Nest Box Making – Community Engagement Day

On Saturday 4th February, families will have the opportunity to make a nest box from scratch at Edenvilla Park, receive advice on the best place to site one in their gardens, learn how to attract birds into their gardens and why it is important to provide a safe nesting site for our native garden birds.

The event is being delivered with our partners TCV The Conservation Volunteers and slots can be booked at the following times by emailing

10.30am | 11.00am | 11.30am | 12.00pm | 1.00pm | 1.30pm | 2.00pm | 2.30pm

Slots will be allocated on a first come basis. All under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore the new interactive bird trail at Edenvilla Park. Nestled in the Portadown park, the 1K bird trail starts at the playpark and meanders along the outer perimeter path, cutting back towards the Walled Garden at the tennis courts before finishing in the Secret Garden. With 25 bird house plaques and 16 QR codes, the trail helps provide you with facts, figures and information about our native birds.
