This is a Cross-Community Youth Diversion Project bringing together youths aged 14-20 to engage in sport and physical activity. The project will increase awareness of the benefits of health and fitness, in terms of physical, social and emotional wellbeing and increase self-esteem and confidence in young people and increase employment and educational opportunities.

 

This programme is funded by Department for Communities, Peace IV and Armagh City, Banbridge, Craigavon Borough Council and is fully organised and delivered by the Sports Development Team. For further information please contact one of the Community Sport Development Officers on 02838311687.

What is DV8?

The DV8 Project provides participants with the opportunity to get more involved in sport, either as a player, a coach or a volunteer. Participants will:

  • Receive top class coaching in a variety of sports
  • Gain coaching qualifications in these sports.
  • Visit local sports clubs to experience playing at club level
  • Gain volunteering opportunities on sports projects delivered by Sports Development.
  • Have the opportunity to attend elite level sporting events as a spectator.
