Activities for Kids & Adults during the Summer

Do you want to get moving again over the summer in a safe and friendly environment outdoors?

From the 6th July there will be kids and adult physical activity sessions taking place in our parks and open spaces. There will be two programmes on offer. Everyone must book online in advance for both programmes.

The first programme will be delivered by our qualified Every Body Active 2020 coaches, they will deliver short 1 hour classes, adhering to social distancing, these classes will have a nominal £1 fee. The classes will be delivered at the following venues:

  • Portadown People’s Park (3G)
  • Tennis Courts at Banbridge Leisure Centre
  • Cathedral Road 3G Armagh
  • Ferris Park Dromore
  • Keady Recreation 3G
  • Kinallen 3G (Fairhill PS)
  • Lurgan Park
  • Tandragee Recreation Centre 3G
  • Richhill Recreation Centre 3G
  • Brownstown Park Tennis Courts

The second programme ‘Let the Games Begin’ will be delivered by our qualified Sports Coordinators and coaches, who are funded by Department for Communities, Neighbourhood Renewal Programme, they will deliver short 45 minute classes to children aged 8-11 years old, adhering to social distancing guidelines in the following venues free of charge:

  • Portadown People’s Park (3G)
  • Clonmeen Playing Field (Craigavon)
  • Lurgan Park
  • Gordon Playing Fields (Lurgan)
  • Lord Lurgan Memorial Park (Allenhill) Park

Booking early is essential as these sessions are expected to be in high demand.

What is Get Active Outdoors Summer Programme?

Summer Activities Outdoors is a range of physical activity sessions for both kids and adults that will take place in a number of our parks and open spaces.

Who is Get Active Outdoors Summer Programme for?

The Get Active Outdoor Summer sessions are for both kids and adults with a maximum of 8 participants taking part in each session.

What activities are on offer for kids?

The Summer Outdoor Activity Programme will include the following activities for kids;

  • Dance
  • Fundamental Movement Skills
  • Football Skills Sessions
  • Family Tennis
  • Sports Day Games
  • Sport Skill Sessions

What activities are on offer for adults?

The Summer Outdoor Activity Programme will continue with our popular adult dance classes and family tennis.

Why are some classes free and some charged?

This is due to different funding arrangements for each programme but we have kept any cost as low as possible.

Will there be toilet & changing facilities available?

There will be no changing facilities available, some venues will have toilet access. Below is the list of facilities with toilets available:
