Armagh host the 2022 Cycling Ireland National Cyclocross Championships in January
The 2022 Cycling Ireland National Championships, hosted by Square Wheels CC and sponsored by Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, will take place in the City of Armagh on the 8th and 9th January.
The championships are located in the city centre, set in 300 acres of the Palace Demesne. It promises to be an exceptional weekend of action packed Cyclocross, in a stunning location for both competitors and spectators.
Saturday 8th January
9.00am – 2.00pm – U6 Fun race, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16
Racing will take place on a separate youth course in addition to the main course.
Sunday 9th January
9.00am – 4pm – Men Juniors, M40, M50, M60, Masters Women, Senior Women, Senior Men
Racing takes place on the main course.
Cost: Competitors: £1- £20 | Spectators: Free
The two courses (youth & main) have been developed in the grounds of the Palace Demense by the host club, Square Wheels CC, over the past 5 years. With a focus on providing the best possible experience for both riders and spectators, the course is renowned for its steep gradients, technical wooded areas and deep, deep mud, challenging and testing every aspect of the cyclocross rider. Spectators will find it easy to catch all the thrills and spills from several key locations, which are also wheelchair accessible.
