Mackle Pet Foods: where well-being is embedded in the company culture
People are the cornerstone of Mackle Pet Foods, the Armagh-based family-owned company behind the well-known pet food brands Brandy, Cat Club and Naturo.
To further strengthen its commitment to a healthier and happier workforce, the company has joined the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s ‘Get Moving ABC’ programme.
The company employs 275 staff across 2 sites in Moy and Moygashel and produces more than 500,000 tonnes of pet food each year in the form of cans, trays and pouches.
People remain firmly at the heart of the business. The company continues to invest in their teams with training and development programmes, new equipment and innovative products – ensuring a highly skilled workforce and the long-term sustainability and success of the business.
Francesca Murray, Head of Human Resources said: “Well-being isn’t an initiative for us; it’s part of our culture. Whether it’s access to the Health Shield cash plan, health checks or promoting simple daily habits like encouraging staff to enjoy fresh fruit, we believe small actions make a big difference.
“Having the Health Shield cash plan takes a lot of pressure off when it comes to dentist and optician bills and the health checks also show how we genuinely care, making our people feel valued and appreciated.

Get Moving ABC is a borough‑wide well-being initiative bringing together local organisations, community groups and partners with one shared goal – to motivate and support as many people as possible to achieve the recommended levels of physical activity.
Through this initiative, the council works closely with organisations to explore, co-ordinate and plan effective ways of encouraging employees to lead active, fulfilling lives, inside and outside the workplace.
