Banbridge Leisure Centre is home to a number of dry-side facilities which offer a wide range of leisure activities for the whole community. Please read this section to find out more.

Disabled Go works in partnership with the Council to provide an access guide to over 450 public venues.  A range of venues are included in the guide such as leisure centres, shops, hotels, restaurants, council buildings, community centres, places of worship and many more.

Swimming Pools

Banbridge Leisure Centre offers a wide range of supervised swimming and water facilities including 4 pool areas, a health suite, a flume and a number of water features ensuring fun for the whole family!

  • Main Swimming Pool: (25m x 12.5m with a depth of 1.0m to 1.5m)
  • A 6 Lane swimming pool ideal for lane swimming and general pool activities.
  • Learner Pool: (8.5m x 7.5m with a depth of 0.90m)
  • A secured pool area ideal for Parents/Guardians with children aged 0-9 years.
  • Leisure Pool: (10.5m x 8.0m with a depth of 1.0m – 1.5m)
  • Accessible from the Main Pool area the leisure pool hosts a number of water features including lounger beds, mushroom shower, waterfall, water jets and spa facility.
  • Toddler Pool: (8.0m x 4.5m with a depth of 0.00m – 0.24m)
  • Suitable for children aged 5 years and under, the toddler pool hosts a small slide and water features including a mini mushroom and mini waterfall.
  • Childrens Flume/Water Slide: (50m in length)
  • A 50 metre winding water slide providing loads of fun for the kids. Height restriction of 1 meter applies.
  • Health Suite/Sauna and Steam Room
  • Accessible from the main pool area, enjoy a relaxing sauna and/or steam session at your leisure. Includes free swim.

Thermal Heatlh Suite

If you wish to simply relax and unwind why not take advantage of the Sauna & Steam room. Accessible from the main pool area, enjoy a relaxing sauna and/or steam room session at your leisure. Includes a free swim.

Sauna – Ease away aches and pains plus the physical and mental strain of a hard day.

Steam Room – In Steam, the body becomes revitalized and blood pressure falls as tension eases. Pores are opened and gently cleaned, first symptoms of a cold are eased.

In the interest of your own health and Safety we kindly ask all users that have any form of medical conditions to make this known to a member of staff prior to using the sauna & steam room.


Newly refurbished in February 2015 Banbridge Leisure Centre boasts an exemplary fitness suite environment, consisting of Precor interactive cardio vascular machines, Resistance equipment that is designed with adjustable parts such as seat height and leg positions to suit all users of all abilities. The vast equipment mix provides a total body workout for users of all ability levels and experiences.

Preva Network: Preva is a unique way of managing your workouts. With a personalised Preva wristband that links with the cardio machines, you can set personalised targets, access the internet and watch your favourite soaps. Each machine has its own screen making it is easy to navigate whilst exercising safely.

Functional Rig: The Exigo club free standing functional “monster rig” offers plenty of storage and workout stations for complete exercise training.

Our specialist fitness suite has a range of machines and exercises available, coupled with our expert guidance we can quickly help you to achieve your health, fitness, toning or muscle strength goals. Just some of the many benefits and features our revolutionary fitness equipment offers.

Sports Hall

The sports hall comprises of six courts and can facilitate the following activities:

  • Martial Arts (matted and non matted)
  • Bouncy Castle Parties
  • Various Fitness Classes

The main hall can be hired to accommodate special events with a maximum capacity of 1500 seated or standing. For more details please contact the centre.

Café Eden boasts of its traditional food and friendly staff.  Whether its a quick snack after a hard workout or catch up with friends for a coffee.

Banbridge Leisure Centre has two state of the art function rooms. Ideal for classes, seminars and training events.

Squash Courts

Banbridge Leisure Centre has 3 squash courts. The squash courts have their own allocated viewing area. The squash courts have movable walls for double games.

Banbridge Leisure has an all-weather pitch equipped with floodlights.

£1 Swim for under 18s in July and August
Monday - Sunday up to 5pm

Summer Swim Crash Course. Ages 5 years and over.
Intensive courses for children with no to moderate experience in swimming. One week courses running Monday - Friday through out July and August. Cost £31.00

Under 4s Water Confidence Classes
This is a five day course running during July.
Introducing children to the water enviroment
Developes their water confidence
Teaches floatation, submersion and basic stroke skills.
One weeks course. Cost £31.00

Fitness FAQ

I have never used the fitness suite before can I start today?

All we ask is that our users are registered. This means you need to complete a Medical Questionnire (M.Q) and hand it to our fitness staff. This is dependent on Staff availability, to avoid disappointment we suggest you book your first session in advance.

Do I need an induction to use the fintess suite?

Normally you do not, however for certain groups do, (for example those with certain medical conditions and all our teen gym users.) Our medical questionnaire contains sections asking if you would like one or not. Please speak to a member of fitness staff for more information.

I want an induction, is there a charge for this?

No, if you want one this is included with your gym visit.

What service are offered with every IEP?

An individual exercise programme. An IEP Review. Sports specific training advice. Nutritional advice. Fitness testing. Booking may be required to avail of these services.

I am under 16 can I still use the fitness suite?

Yes, if you are 12 years of age or above.  However you require a medical questionniare signed by your legal guardian and an induction is required.  You can only use the fitness suite during prearranged teen gym times unless accompaned by an adult.

I have a medical condition can I use the fitness suite?

You will need to complete a medical questionnare and the fitness advisor will advise you.  You may need a letter from your G.P. stating you are fit to exercise.

I am pregnant can I use the fitness suite?

Yes as long as you were exercising before you became pregnant. In other circumstances please consult a doctor before starting to exericse.

I am disabled can i use the fitness suite?

Of course you can, we have a wide range of accessible equipment and an instructor will be more than happy to help you get the most from it.

Do I need to bring a towel?

No, paper towels are provided but we would prefer if you brought a towel, anti-bacterial spray is provided.

Swimming Lessons FAQ

Does my child require bring Arm bands for the lesson?

No, all floats and armbands will be provided

Where do I go on the first day of the lessons?

Bring your child down to changing rooms, get them changed and wait at the entrance of the swimming pool before sending your child to their teacher no earlier than 5 minutes before the start time of the lesson.

Do I need to be in the water or stay with my child during their lesson?

No, once your child has been greeted by the teachers you can then leave you child with the teacher. We ask that you stay in the building throughout the lesson.

Does my child need to have goggles for the lessons?

Goggles are not compulsory but if you think it would benefit your child then it would be advisable, goggles can be purchased from main reception.

What happes when the block of lessons is over, do we need to enroll again?

The swimming teacher will be continually assessing your child throughout the block and will allocate a place for your child according to their progress and ablility. This takes place at the end of the lessons in preparation for the next block of lessons.

What happens if I need to speak to my childs teacher?

If you need to speak to your childs teacher we ask that you leave your name and contact number at reception and a member of the teaching team will contact you as soon as possible.

Will my child be with the same children as in previous classes.

Not necessarily, your child will move depending on their progression and ability.
