‘Walking for All’ is a vibrant, community-led walking programme bringing people together through the simple power of walking.
We know that walking does more than just keep you active. Research shows that guided group walks can boost mental wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation, and strengthen your connection to the world around you. That’s why ‘Walking for All’ is designed to be inclusive—welcoming people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to enjoy short, regular walks in their local communities.
At the heart of the programme are 16 dedicated Walking for All Officers, working across council and county areas. They recruit, train, and support passionate volunteer Walk Leaders who bring communities to life. Together, they help create friendly, supportive walking groups that inspire thousands of people to get outside, stay active, and feel connected.
In Northern Ireland, Walking for Health and Walking for All are coming together under one unified programme—making it easier than ever to get involved. This work is proudly supported by the Public Health Agency and Health and Social Care Trusts.
Whether you’re looking to improve your health, meet new people, or simply enjoy the outdoors – Walking for All is for you.
