The Orchard Leisure Centre is a modern leisure facility offering a wide variety of leisure and sport activities for the whole community.

In addition to the swimming pools the centre has a number of dry-side facilities which offer a wide range of leisure activities.

Monday 27 May: Centre Opened 9.15am to 5.00pm, last swim 4.00pm, there will be no swimming lessons or Activity classes.

AccessIbility

Disabled Go works in partnership with the Council to provide an access guide to over 450 public venues.  A range of venues are included in the guide such as leisure centres, shops, hotels, restaurants, council buildings, community centres, places of worship and many more.

Swimming Pools

The Orchard Leisure Centre has 2 state of the art swimming pools, comprising a 6 lane, 25 metre Main Pool which is ideal for recreational swimming, fitness training, injury recovery and fun with friends.

The 12.5 metre learner pool has warmer water perfect for those being introduced to swimming or fun with the family.

The Village style Changing offers abundant showering facilities, vanity areas and family changing areas along with 4 group changing rooms and extensive facilities for those with disabilities are also available.

Thermal Health Suite

The relaxation suite includes a steam room, 2 spa pools (jacuzzi and cold plunge pool), a large sauna, extensive social area and easy pool access.

Gym

The gym is a fully air conditioned, modern gym which hosts a fantastic range of the most up to date and well maintained gym equipment, offering up to 60 gym pieces in a variety of equipment types, including cardiovascular, resistance, hydraulic, free weights, flexibility and balance catering for all strengths and abilities.

The Precor cardio vascular machines have a built in personalised fitness tracking system called Preva.

Preva allows users to track their fitness progress at the gym with on the console software or on the go with the Preva Mobile app.

Gullivers Soft Play area

Gullivers Soft Play area is perfect for tots, toddlers and children of primary school age (a height restriction of 4’ 5” / 134 cm applies).

It is an ultimate play experience in Armagh with 3 fantastic storey’s of exciting soft play with lots of features to entertain children from 45 minutes to an hour.

Meeting Rooms

Orchard Leisure Centre has 2 multi-purpose rooms which can cater for the short 1 hour meetings or larger all day events.

Multi Purpose Room 1 on the ground floor can accommodate up to 50 people (theatre style) or 25 people (boardroom style).

Multi Purpose Room 2 on the lower ground floor can accommodate up to 30 people (theatre style) or 15 people (boardroom style).

Sports Hall

The 3 court sports hall with sports specific floor can cater for a variety of sports such as 5-a-side soccer, hockey, netball, basketball as well some of our very popular activity classes.

Cafe Olympus

Cafe Olympus is the ideal place for a bite to eat at any time. Each day the varied menu has something to suit even the hungriest of appetites, whether it be after a work out at the gym or just popping in for a quick bite.

Crèche

Crèche facilities are available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.30am – 12.30pm providing quality supervision for children from 3 months to 4 years and 11 months in a safe and stimulating environment.

Crèche times coincide with our activity morning which allows parents to take part in an activity class, use the fitness suite and unwind in the relaxation suite while the children have fun.

Fitness FAQ's

What dates are direct debits?

Monthly Direct Debit payments will normally be actioned on as near to the 1st or 15th of each month depending on your joining date.

Do I receive a membership card?

Yes, members must produce their Visions membership card on each visit to the Centre.

What do I do if I lose my Visions Membership card?

If the card is lost, stolen or damaged you must notify reception immediately. A replacement fee will be charged to cover administration.

Who is entitled to Concession Rates?

  • Job seekers Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Incapacity benefit
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Aged 60+
  • Employment & Support Allowance

A concession application form must be completed and proof of any benefits must be provided, this will be updated every 8 weeks.

How do I cancel my membership?

If you wish to cancel your membership – after the initial 3 month contract period – you may do so in writing or by completing a membership cancellation form available from reception. You must give a minimum of ten working days notice before your next direct debit is due. It is the member/s responsibility to cancel a Direct Debit instruction with their bank.

Do I need to complete an induction?

Yes, an induction must be completed prior to using the Fitness suite, this is included in your membership.

Swimmng Lesson FAQ's

Am I required to bring Armbands for my child’s swimming lesson?

No, all floats and armbands will be provided.

Where do I bring my child on the first day of lessons?

You should get your child dressed and take them to the steps at the deep end of the main pool.

The teachers will be waiting to greet your children at both the small and main pool.

For safety reasons parents are not allowed to walk kids along the pool side bank and so you should send your child to either the small or main pool depending on where their lesson is.

Does my child require goggle for lessons?

Goggles are not compulsory but we recommend that your child wears goggles.

When the set of lessons ends am I automatically entered into the next set of lessons?

On the 2nd last week of each set of lessons the teacher will perform a test session to assess your child’s progress.

On the last week you will receive a slip of paper with details of whether your child will repeat the set of lessons or has moved on to the next set and also a ‘payment due by’ date.

Your child will automatically be booked into the appropriate next set of lessons but if payment is not received by the ‘payment due date’ your child will be removed from the system and this space will be offered to someone else.

Will my child be with the same children as in previous classes?

Not necessarily, your child will move depending on their progression and ability.

Softplay FAQ's

What is the age limit for Gulliver’s Island?

We actually operate a height restriction for Gulliver’s Island. Children with a height of over 145cm are not permitted to use Gulliver’s Island for safety reasons.

How long does each session last in Gulliver’s Island?

Each session lasts for 1 hour.

Can I take tea/coffee into Gulliver’s Island?

No hot food/drinks are permitted into Gulliver’s Island for safety reasons. Children are not permitted to take any food/drink into the actual play structure.
