Fitness FAQ

I have never used the fitness suite before can I start today?

All we ask is that our users are registered.  This means you need to complete a medical questionnaire and give it to one of our fitness staff.  This is dependent on staff availability, to avoid disappointment we suggest you book your first session in advance.

Do I need an induction to use the fitness suite?

Normally you do not, however certain groups do, (for example those with certain medical conditions and all our teen gym users.) Our medical questionnaire contains a section asking if you would like one or not.  Please speak to a member of fitness staff for more informaion.

I want an induction, is there a charge for this?

No, if you would like one this is included with your gym visit.

What service are offered with every Individual Exercise Programme (IEP)?

An individual exercise programme, an IEP review, sports specific training advice, nutritional advice and fitness testing.  Booking may be required to avail of these services.

I am under 16 can I still use the fitness suite?

Yes, if you are 12 years of age or above.  However you require a medical questionnaire signed by your legal guardian and an induction is required.  You can only use the fitness suite during pre-arranged teen gym times unless accompaned by an adult.

I have a medical condition can I use the fitness suite?

You will need to complete a medical questionnaire and the fitness instructor will advise you.  You may need a letter from your GP stating you are fit to exercise.

I am pregnant can I use the fitness suite?

Yes, as long as you were exercising before you became pregnant. In other circumstances please consult a doctor before starting to exericse.

I am disabled can I use the fitness suite?

Of course you can, we have a wide range of accessible equipment and an instructor will be more than happy to help you get the most from it.

Do I need to bring a towel?
