Gilford Community Centre sits on the banks of the River Bann and provides activities for the local community with an ultra-modern, Quest Accredited indoor and outdoor facility.

Disabled Go works in partnership with the Council to provide an access guide to over 450 public venues. A range of venues are included in the guide such as leisure centres, shops, hotels, restaurants, council buildings, community centres, places of worship and many more.
Our fitness suite is a 500sq foot, 26 station fitness facility that offers a wide range of state of the art equipment including:
- Cardiovascular equipment
- 5 Treadmills
- 2 Cross-trainers
- 4 Upright cycles
- 2 Rowing machines
- Resistance equipment
- 7 machine resistant weight stacks
- A chin up bar
- Selection of free weights.
- Squat rack
- Olympic bar
- Dumbbells up to 32kg

Gilford Community Centre has a state of the art climbing wall for use by clubs, groups and individuals. Suitable for ages 8+, the wall has 8 Auto Belay routes of varying difficulty to challenge everyone from beginners to experienced climbers!
Our bouldering area is also available to practice your moves before attempting the wall.
The wall can be hired for private parties our for 1 hour sessions which includes the use of a harness and advice from our Climbing Instructors.

Children's Climbing Programme
The sports hall comprises of four courts and can facilitate the following activities:
- Indoor Football
- Table tennis
- Martial Arts (matted and non matted)
- Bouncy Castle Parties
- Various Fitness Classes

The Upper River Bann is a fantastic natural outdoor resource running through the district. Not only an excellent wildlife corridor it has been described as ‘one of the best white water canoeing rivers in NI’ and is extensively used by clubs, individuals and training centres.
Located within the stretch of the Upper River Bann that runs through Stramore Park in Gilford and immediately adjacent to the Gilford Community Centre, our new 115m beginners Canoe Slalom course runs from the canoe steps at the Centre down to a new set of canoe steps at Bridge Street.
The footbridge links the two sites and provides an excellent vantage point to watch the paddlers close to the excellent facilities at the centre. We have ample car parking beside the Linen House Restaurant and Tea Rooms.

We have a trim trail providing 8 outdoor fitness stations including Pull Up Bars, Tricep Dip Bars, Sit Up and Balance Beams. A walkway between each station allows you to either run or gently stroll from one station to the next.
Picnic tables and seated benches are also provided for members of the public and the site is accessible 7 days per week from the gates at the Bridgewater car park.
