Gene’s remarkable recovery with the help of PARS

After having a stroke in 2021, legendary local comedian Gene Fitzpatrick has been on a mission to be more active.

Almost immediately after being given the green light by doctors to get moving, Gene was determined to get back on his feet. He started walking outside around home and joined the gym at Banbridge Leisure Centre. Gene is also working with fitness advisors on the Physical Activity Referral Scheme (PARS), which has had a massive boost to Gene’s recovery and confidence.

Gene has also been delighted to take to the stage in recent times, performing for some charity comedy events. As a keen golfer, Gene is also working on his fitness and stamina to make a welcome return to the golf course soon!
