A two-hour sessions dedicated to children ages 3-5 years, encouraging them to explore and appreciate the world around them in the beautiful surroundings of Oxford Island. Activities include a woodland walk, minibeast hunt and an art and craft activity.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times

Join members of the education team to explore the minibeast life at Oxford Island Nature Reserve. Explore the woodland, meadow and pond habitats to search for these small but amazing creatures.

Guide in the Hide – Fantastic Feathered Friends

Bird watching walk for families and children at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre. Join members of the education team on a guided walk to Kinnego Hide to observe the waterbirds of Lough Neagh and the birds of the woodlands.

Beginner level birdwatching walk for adults at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre. Join members of the education team on a guided walk to Kinnego Hide to observe the wildfowl of Lough Neagh and the birds of the woodlands.

Young Nature Explorers

Mon 28 to Wed 31 July | 10.00-12.00 each day

Lough Neagh Discovery Centre | Oxford Island NNR

Suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years

£20.00 per child for the four 2-hour sessions

Come and explore the habitats of Oxford Island with experts from our Conservation service.  Each day we will look at different elements of nature and find out more about our amazing animal life, both big and small. Activities will take place outdoors in the habitats of Oxford Island.

Activities will include nature exploration, environmental games and wildlife craft activities.
