Summer Activities at Oxford Island

Accompanied by our knowledgeable staff, enjoy a morning of bird watching at Oxford Island. Visit Kinnego Hide to observe the great crested grebe and many other species as they take to the water with their young. An ideal activity for those who are new to birdwatching.

Bugs & Butterflies Safari

Join our guides as we go on an expedition in our woodlands and wildflower meadow searching for marvellous minibeasts and beautiful butterflies. Have family fun tracking down these amazing bugs, finding out about their habitats and feeding habits, recording the variety of species observed, and learning more about crawling and flying minibeasts. Equipment will be provided.
Guide in the Hide

Kinnego Hide offers a great opportunity for anyone who is a novice but wants to learn about the Oxford Island water bird wildlife. Our friendly ‘Guides in the Hides’ will point out birds of interest such as the great crested grebe and other species as they take to the water with their young. Our guides will provide identification tips and assistance with the use of optical equipment and bird identification resources.
