Craigavon Lake Run 2024

Race numbers will be issued from Rushmere Shopping Centre reception. Collect your race pack from Friday 31st May 4pm until Wednesday 5th June 6pm. The race packs will include race number, pin and timing chip.

When is Craigavon Lakes 10k, 5k, and 1k Family run?

What time does the run start?

Who can enter this years event?

1k Family Fun Run – All ages, 11 years or under must be accompanied by an adult.

5k Run – 11 years old or under must be accompanied by an adult

10k Run – 16 years of age and over

Is this a timed event?

Yes, the 5k and 10k runs will be chipped/timed.

The 1k Family Fun run will not be timed.

How much does it cost to enter?

Where and when can I pick up my race number?

Race numbers will be issued from the reception desk at Rushmere Shopping Centre. Collect your race pack from Friday 31st May 4pm until Wednesday 5th June 6pm. Rushmere Shopping Centre opening hours:

What does my registration fee include?

Registration fee includes:

  • Free parking at Rushmere shopping centre – upper.

Southlake Carpark will be closed to race participants.

  • Entrance into a run of your choice
  • Marshalls on hand to help and provide 1st aid if required
  • Timed run (10k and 5k only)
  • Finisher’s medal, water bottle & snack.
  • Winners medal, trophy and Rushmere Shopping Centre prize vouchers for 5K & 10K

Where is the official start and finish?

The start line will be located at the back gate of Craigavon Civic Centre leading onto Craigavon lakes path and the finish straight will be in front of Craigavon Lakes slip way leading towards South Lake Leisure Centre car park.

Both start & finish lines will be highlighted with markers.

Can I swap my race number?

No. Each individual is set up with a registration/race number. The race number is specific to the registration details you give online and is for your personal use only. For health and safety reasons you cannot change or offer this number to anyone else. Any participant with the wrong race number will be disqualified.

Where will times for the race be posted?

Race results will posted here on Thursday 6th June 2024.

What are the prizes?

Winners medal, trophy and Rushmere Shopping Centre prize vouchers for 5K & 10K

Can I change routes after registration?

No, sorry this is not possible.

What if I can’t make it to the event?

In the event of a cancellation, a minimum of 7 days must be given in order to receive a refund

Must I sign in on the day?

Runners do not need to sign in on the day; this will be done when you collect your race number, which you must wear on the front of your running top. Please note the timing chip is part of your race number, do not tamper with this.

Can I register on the day of the event?

No, runners cannot register on the day. Registration closes at 7.00pm on Monday 3 June.

Where do I park on the day?

Rushmere Shopping Centre is providing free car parking on the upper deck, Carpark 1, Civic centre & Marlborough House overflow.

Are there changing facilities?

We strongly recommend that runners come changed ready to run, there will be no changing facilities at South Lake Leisure Centre. Toilets are available at Rushmere Shopping Centre and South Lake Leisure Centre.

What do I need to bring with me?

Participants should bring appropriate running attire, comfortable running shoes and wear their timing chip and race number on the front of their top.

Will there be water stations?

Yes, there will be water stations outside South Lake Leisure Centre and throughout the race route.

Is the event Marshalled?

Yes, there will be Marshalls throughout the route and at water stations.

What first aid facilities will be available?

St John Ambulance will be on station at South Lake Leisure Centre, all lead cyclists and marshals are trained in first aid. Defibrillators are available at South Lake Leisure Centre and Tannanghmore Gardens.

 

Rules of the event

All competitors acknowledge that they will be running at entirely their own risk and to the extent permitted by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. The Craigavon Lakes 10km Organising Staff will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury whatsoever directly or indirectly occasioned by or resulting from the negligence, wrongful act or default of the Staff, its members, employees or agents or from any other cause including the physical condition of the competitor.
