ABC Council Award Over £20,000 to Local Athletes

Twenty-eight local athletes receive funding totalling more than £20,000, thanks to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council’s Sports Bursary Scheme.

Ran in partnership with Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Sports Forum, the special presentation took place in Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre on Thursday 24 March. Now in its fourth year, the bursaries are designed to help support and facilitate the development of the borough’s rising sporting stars.

Attending the ceremony, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Alderman Glenn Barr said:

“I am delighted that we have once again introduced these bursaries to assist our top athletes at junior and senior level. I know that competing at such a high level requires a lot of financial commitment so I hope that this small token can help you to achieve your sporting goals.”
