Move More and Stay Active

December 15, 2021

The Move More ABC programme has continued to support people who are living with cancer to become active and stay active. Funded by Macmillan Cancer Support, the project is managed by Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council and is supported by the Southern Health & Social Care Trust.

From swimming lessons to aquafit, boxercise and pilates, the group enjoys a variety of physical activities, and an improved quality of life as a result.  The group finished off 2021 with a competitive games challenge and a cuppa, sharing some great photos of the fun physical activity sessions in 2021!

Exercising Together

Our Macmillan Move More Coordinator is trained in Level 4 Exercise & Cancer Rehabilitation and can provide  the help and support needed to initiate and sustain an active lifestyle whilst battling this illness. Whether you would prefer to go walking, be active in the park with your children or grandchildren, exercise in the gym, go for a swim, or get involved in sport, our Coordinator can support you to identify the activities that are right for you, at a time and place that is accessible. Support also involves providing incentives to help you to become active including free taster sessions and discounted membership rates.
