August 11, 2026
End summer on a high with paddleboarding, boating, aqua inflatables, cycling and lots more with South Lake Watersports! There’s something for everyone – children, young people, adults and families – to squeeze in before school starts back, as well as activities to see you through to autumn!

NEW AfterWave Youth Watersports Club: From paddle sports and sailing to battle bows, cycling, team challenges and outdoor adventures, this new after-school club is ideal for young people to try new activities in a safe, supportive environment (starts September and suitable for ages 8-16 years).

Autumn Social Cycling Club: Join a group of friendly cyclists and wheel your way to better health and fitness by exploring Craigavon Lakes and surrounding areas by bike! All cycling equipment will be provided and suited to your needs (starts 3 September).

Kids’ Watersports Multi-Activity Days/Week: Go on! Make it the last hurrah with a day or week-long activity package that includes paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, aqua inflatables, archery, mountain biking and more, all under the guidance of outdoor pursuits instructors (suitable for ages 8-17 years).

Learn to Kayak/Paddleboard/Powerboat/Sail/Archery: Dip your toes into something new with an instructor-led family, junior or adult ‘learn to’ session for sailing, powerboating, paddleboarding, kayaking and archery throughout August and September! These sessions are a great introduction to the great outdoors!

Inclusive Watersports Sessions welcome people of all abilities and disabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory and learning differences and anyone who experiences barriers to mainstream sport. Open to all ages, participants, along with family/carers can enjoy an exciting programme of activities including paddle sports (24-28 August), wheelyboat (4, 11 & 18 August), archery (2 & 30 August), aqua inflatables (29 August) and cycling (25 & 26 August). No experience is necessary and all equipment is provided.

Get qualified with an accredited course! RYA (Royal Yachting Association) is the most globally recognised qualification so get on board and get qualified with courses including RYA Level 1 Start Sailing, RYA Level 2 Basic Skills, RYA Level 2 Powerboat or the Paddle Sports Safety and Rescue course (suitable for ages 12 years+).

Join the Club! Once you master the basics of a water sport, you have the opportunity to join South Lake Paddlers, who meet Wednesdays (6.30pm-8.30pm) between April and October or South Lake Inclusive Paddlers, who meet Tuesdays (6.00pm-7.30pm). Indoor pool sessions are available by arrangement during winter months.

Keep summer going for a little longer with South Lake Watersports!
