Start with 5K and go anywhere!
At the outset, getting fit can feel like mission impossible! For Jacqui, working with children was testing her fitness and she knew she wanted to get more active and feel better but didn’t know how to start.
Jacqui says: “Prior to the programme I couldn’t run for one minute and I didn’t know how I was going to make it. Training with the coaches and other C25K participants gave me the motivation and encouragement to see it through!”
Since completing the programme November past, Jacqui continues to run 2-3 times each week. She also does the parkrun a few times each month, something that she still finds challenging but she enjoys pushing herself to complete it.
Jacqui adds: “I made myself a personal C25K tracker so I could chart my progress. Being able to visualise my progress and tick off the weekly achievements really helped my motivation.”
So, what’s next for Jacqui? With a number of 5K runs under her belt, Jacqui plans to challenge herself to a 10K and we wish her every success.
