It’s been a hectic and fun number of weeks with multi-sports camps, watersports, gym programmes, swimming qualifications and more and although we are fast approaching the final weeks of summer, there’s still lots to do and enjoy in parks and open spaces across the ABC borough!

If you’ve got an adventurous spirit and love to explore, the Summer Series Orienteering at Gosford Forest Park is for you! With 3 courses to choose from, there’s a route to suit everyone from beginners and improvers, to the more experienced! Orienteering is ideal to enjoy as a pair, part of a group or alone. Dates include 9, 16, 23 and 30 August.

All Out Trekking is also a great way to explore Gosford on wheels! The all-terrain buggies are suitable for disabled and non-disabled riders, enabling inclusive participation in a beautiful parkland setting. Sessions continue every Thursday and Saturday throughout August and September and are guided by trained staff. Bespoke packages can also be arranged for large group bookings.

Whatever the day, make it a golf day at Silverwood and Loughgall Country Park, which boast picturesque 18-hole parkland courses, testing all levels and include some excellent challenging holes! There are membership options as well as ‘pay as you go’ and buggy/golf equipment hire.

Grab a tube and go for a slide on the wild side at Craigavon Golf and Ski Centre! Individual and family tubing, skiing and footgolf packages guarantee lots of laughs and exercise for everyone on and off the slopes!

If you’re looking for an activity that will carry you through the rest of summer and beyond, why not consider the Walking For All programme, designed to bring people of all ages and abilities together through the simple power of walking in their local area. The programme also seeks to recruit and train walk leaders to deliver walks in rural areas across the ABC borough.

Parks and open spaces across the borough are perfect for picnics, nature scavenger hunts, wildlife watching, ball games, walks and cycles.
