TESTIMONIALS

“My name is Joanne and I signed up to the Carers Get Active Scheme in September. I care for my son who has autism and severe learning disabilities. I also have elderly parents who need support too. I am really enjoying the gym as I am getting fit, meeting new people and it’s a time just for me to get away from my responsibilities even just for an hour 2 or 3 times a week. I’m coming 60y soon but I don’t feel out of place with all the younger generation at the gym as they are very helpful if I’m not sure what I’m doing sometimes. Age doesn’t matter as there are older people there than me so there are no excuses not to join the scheme, it’s great value for money and it makes you feel stronger physically and mentally while having fun too.”

“After availing of the get active discount card i signed up for a membership in the leisure centre, from then i have been attending gym classes 2-3 times a week. I am a busy mum of two children and work full time, so its been really good being able to have some time for myself and i am really enjoying the classes.  The discount card for carers is a brilliant scheme and more people should definitely make use of it.” Natalie
