Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has teamed up with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust to offer a discounted getactiveabc membership rate across all nine council leisure facilities for eligible caregivers – providing access to the gym, swimming pools and classes. These include; Banbridge Leisure Centre, Dromore Community Centre, Gilford Community Centre, Keady Recreation Centre, Orchard Leisure Centre, Rathfriland Community Centre, Richhill Recreation Centre, South Lake Leisure Centre and Tandragee Recreation Centre.

Carers must have either a SHSCT Get Active Card or a Carer’s ID Card

Foster Carers & Carers of an adult or child with a learning disability or autism/ID CAHMS who use Southern Health & Social Care Trust services
Unpaid Primary/Main Carer(s) for individuals in receipt of a Direct Payment (Self Directed Support)

Carers who provide regular and substantial unpaid care to a family member, partner or friend who could not manage without their support due to illness, disability, mental health needs or addiction.

• Bring your SHSCT Carers Get Active Card or Carers ID Card and photographic ID to any of the 9 leisure facilities and a Customer Advisor will assist you with your membership

“My name is Joanne and I signed up to the Carers Get Active Scheme in September. I care for my son who has autism and severe learning disabilities. I also have elderly parents who need support too. I am really enjoying the gym as I am getting fit, meeting new people and it’s a time just for me to get away from my responsibilities even just for an hour 2 or 3 times a week. I’m coming 60y soon but I don’t feel out of place with all the younger generation at the gym as they are very helpful if I’m not sure what I’m doing sometimes.
