National Fitness Day 2024

September 09, 2024

One of our favourite days of the year is National Fitness Day (18 September), and we are encouraging everyone to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle by getting active – not just for the day but for life!

National Fitness Day is an annual campaign by ukactive and once again, the theme is ‘Your Health is for Life’ – a powerful message carried over from 2023 due to its universal significance.

At getactiveabc we are urging people of all ages and abilities to make small changes to boost their physical activity that gradually become healthy habits to protect and enhance health and wellbeing over the long-term.

On National Fitness Day (subject to availability, timetables and centre opening hours), the following activities are free:

  • Racquet sports – badminton, pickleball, squash and table tennis.
  • Drop-in swimming sessions.
  • Fitness classes across centres [where places are available].

Fitness classes and racquet sport sessions can be booked via the getactiveabc app.

We are also inviting members to ‘bring a buddy’ on National Fitness Day for a ‘have-a-go’ workout and discover more ways to move together!

So whether you are an aspiring athlete, you work out regularly, you’re just thinking about an active lifestyle, or are somewhere in between, fitness is for everyone.

Come on everyone – let’s do this!
