Celebrate National Fitness Day and enjoy benefits of free Get Moving ABC Workplace scheme!

The theme of this year’s National Fitness Day is ‘Your Health is for Life’ and we are encouraging businesses across the borough to take the first step with their employees on a much bigger journey to better health for life by signing up to the Get Moving ABC Workplace Scheme!

Over the past months, our Sports Development Team has been delighted to work with staff from Ripple Creative, Turkington Construction, Irwins Bakery, Autobits Motorstore and Tarrisis Enterprises, helping teams get fit for business with bespoke packages addressing the health and wellbeing needs of employees.

Feeling the benefits already, feedback from local businesses on the scheme has been extremely positive:

Let’s get moving!! We are delighted to team up with ABC Council for their ‘Get Moving programme’.  This excellent initiative is offered to every business in the ABC council area, with the aim of getting more of our population moving.  With the sun shining & spring in the air, this ‘get moving’ idea doesn’t sound too bad!  Turkington Construction

Each business who signs up to the scheme will get started by having a meeting with our experts who will help to identify the needs of staff members, before developing a bespoke package that will meet those needs.

The initiative includes a range of options for businesses such as becoming part of a Corporate Indoor Leisure Membership Scheme; support and guidance through Couch to 5K/10K; opportunity to enter a workplace team into a Business Games Day; information on how to sign your work place up to an active travel scheme; collaboration with the NI Chest, Heart and Stroke charity’s Live Well Work Well programme – plus lots more!
