Get believing in Christmas magic with getactiveabc!
Light up this festive season with the getactiveabc Christmas event guide! Whether it’s festive fun, food, fitness or films, we’ve got a sack load of treats!
Get your’elf ready to meet Santa, and make sure you’re on the nice list when he visits the borough! ‘Snowtube with Santa’ at Craigavon Golf and Ski and experience the thrill of flying down the slopes as fast as Rudolph pulling the sleigh or brave the winter chill and ‘Sail to Santa’ aboard the elf-powered wheely boat across Craigavon Lakes to South Lake Leisure Centre for fun with Santa and a Christmas fair!
‘Skate with Santa’ and roll with the reindeer at our festive-themed roller disco or join our Incredable elves to decorate mini cupcakes, make melted snowmen cookies and Christmas top-hats at Banbridge Leisure Centre!
Dromore Community Centre becomes an ‘Enchanted Winter Wonderland’ for writing letters to Santa and capturing those extra special festive moments against a magical backdrop. We’ve also made a list of all the great Christmas movies (and checked it twice) to bring you festive cinematic gems – Frozen, The Snowman and Home Alone for this year’s ‘Christmas Cinema Day’! The adults can get merry and bright with the ‘Christmas Dance Party’ featuring jigs, reels and marches set to a jolly festive soundtrack!
Let the kids work off some of that Christmas cheer with our ‘Jingle all the way to Gulliver’s Soft Play’ sessions (Orchard Leisure Centre); bounce around with a fun-filled festive inflatable session at Dromore, Banbridge, Rathfriland and Tandragee; take to the slopes at Craigavon Golf and Ski for skiing and snowboarding or twinkle and shine at the ‘Rathfriland Christmas Party!’
Keep the true meaning of Christmas close to heart and visit the heart-warming ‘Tannaghmore Live Nativity’ with sheep, cows and a donkey, at Tannaghmore Gardens and Animal Farm, from Sunday 3 December until Sunday 1 January, 10am – 4pm each day.
Deck the halls with seasonal foliage at one of the wreath-making workshops in Banbridge and Orchard Leisure Centres and Portadown People’s Park and Lurgan Park.
Local primary and secondary schools are also encouraged to join the ‘Daily Mile Santa Run’ on Friday 1 December. ‘Tis the season for giving and by taking part, your class could be in with a chance of winning a snowtubing session at Craigavon Golf and Ski!
