Nominations open for ABC Senior Sports Awards 2024

It’s time to shine a light on the borough’s top sporting talent at the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Senior Sports Awards 2024.

Organised by Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Sports Forum, in partnership with ABC Council, these annual awards recognise elite sportspeople who have excelled in their chosen sport and acknowledge the outstanding contribution of coaches and volunteers who help build on the borough’s reputation for sporting excellence.

Speaking at the launch, Lord Mayor Alderman Margaret Tinsley said: “I am delighted to announce that nominations for the Senior Sports Awards 2024 are now open. These awards are a fitting way to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our talented athletes, as well as those involved in coaching and officiating. This is a great opportunity to acknowledge those behind our local sporting successes and I encourage nominations from across the borough.”

Nominations are open for the following award categories:

  • Sports Person/Team with a Disability.
  • Sportswoman of the Year.
  • Sportsman of the Year.
  • Senior Team of the Year.
  • Senior Coach of the Year.
  • Service to Sport.
  • Volunteer Award.
  • Club of the Year.

To qualify, nominees should compete at county/regional level or above for achievements between January and December 2023 and must be aged 18 and above at the time of competition.

Nominations must be submitted online before 5pm on Wednesday 10 January. Click here to view the guidance notes and to submit a nomination.

The shortlisted nominees will be announced in February 2024 and the awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 27 March at the Craigavon Civic and Conference Centre.
